WORD OF THE WEEK

Ubiquitous: widespread

Pronunciation: yoo-BIK-wuh-tuss

Example: Right now, Tik-Tok is quite ubiquitous. As of July 2020, 26.5 million people in the U.S were on Tik-Tok.

Origin of the word: It's derived from the noun 'ubiquity' which means 'presence everywhere'. The noun itself is derived from the word 'ubique', meaning everywhere. Though it means 'widespread', the word itself is not ubiquitous.

However, it's a great way to say 'popular' or 'something that everyone knows about'.

Andddd that's another addition to your vocabulary.

Until next time...

Stay curious ;)

Love, Sarah
