Eunoia- a well mind or beautiful thinking.
(Sometimes used as a medical term to describe a state of normal mental health)
Fun Fact: Eunoia is the shortest English word containing all five vowels (a,e,i,o,u).
Beautiful thinking to me means happy thoughts. Looking for the good in everything. The theory of yin-yang. There is a little bit of bad in everything good and good in everything bad. When I think of someone that looked for the best in everything, I think of Anne Frank. For those who are unfamiliar with this name, Anne Frank was the author of a diary that is the primary source for understanding World War II. My father once got me a copy of the book, and we recently read it in English class. Towards the end of the book, we find out that Anne passed away, but her dad was alive. Mr. Frank had found her diary and published it, to honor her daughter and to show the world what they had been through. Throughout the book, Anne remained optimistic. Even in the concentration camp, she’s illustrated as happy. Absurd, isn’t it? She was just happy to be outside and not having to live within walls. Even in the last few months of her life, she saw good in everyone.
That’s what I call beautiful thinking!
